The Lutyens city is full of Saptaparnies
You cannot escape the stinging fragrance
And they said Saptaparni is medicinal
All of them liked the fragrance

I am walking on the road
covered with carpets of dry flowers
They have lost the fragrance
A thick mysterious fog envelopes

മന്ദാരങ്ങള്‍ പൂത്ത കുളിരുള്ള രാവുകള്‍ക്ക് വിട
ഹിമകണങ്ങള്‍ വിരിച്ച പുല്പ്പരപ്പില്‍ നിന്റെ
പാദങ്ങള്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത വഴിത്താരകള്‍ക്കും വിട
മൈനകളുടെ പാട്ടിനു മറുപാട്ട് പാടാന്‍
വഴക്കിടുന്ന കൂട്ടുകാര്‍ക്കും വിട

ഇന്നെന്റെ രാവുകള്‍ക്ക് മന്ദാരങ്ങള്‍ അന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു
പാദങ്ങളെ തഴുകുന്ന പുല്നാമ്പുകളില്ല.
നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള്‍ വിതറിയ ആകാശമിന്നെനിക്കന്യം
പതിനേഴിഞ്ച് സ്ക്രീനില്‍ ഏകനായി
കുരിശില്‍ മരണം കാത്തു കിടക്കുന്നു ഞാന്‍

മൈനകളുടെ പാട്ട് - ഒരു ആമുഖം

ബ്ലോഗ്ഗിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ പോസ്റ്റ്‌.

ബ്ലോഗ്ഗിന്റെ പേര് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ മൈനകളുടെ പാട്ടിനെക്കുറിച്ച് തന്നെയാകട്ടെ ആദ്യം എഴുതുന്നത്‌. ഗൃഹാതുരത്വം ഉണര്‍ത്തുന്ന ഒരുപാട് ഓര്‍മ്മകളുടെ പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതമാണ് അത്. ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ മഞ്ഞു പെയ്യാന്‍ തുടങ്ങും അത് കേള്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍. കുട്ടികളായിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഞാനും എന്‍റെ ഒരേയൊരു അനുജനും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരും സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് പോകുന്ന വനപാതയുടെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള ഉയര്‍ന്ന പുന്നമരങ്ങളുടെ ശിഖരങ്ങിലായിരുന്നു അവയെ സാധാരണ കണ്ടിരുന്നത്. വനത്തിന്‍റെ നിശബ്ദതയെ കീറിമുറിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുള്ള അവയുടെ ആ മധുര സംഗീതം ഇന്നലെ കേട്ടത് പോലെ ഇന്നും മനസ്സില്‍ ഓളങ്ങള്‍ തീര്‍ക്കുന്നു. കുട്ടിക്കാലത്തിന്റെ കൊച്ചു സന്തോഷങ്ങളും മൈനകളുടെ ആ മധുര സംഗീതവും കൂടിക്കലര്‍ന്ന ആ നല്ല കാലത്തിന്റെ ഓര്മ്മയ്ക്കായി ആകട്ടെ ഈ ബ്ലോഗ്ഗ്.
